Puppies

puppies are the cutest things...
they are always into stuff.
puppies like to bite and nip,
and the wrestling is always fun.
you can pet them, and cuddle them.
you can rub them, and love them.
Puppies are all so cute.
you can never get enough...

I walk into the shelter and posters are everywhere.
they advertise that they are no kill,
They ask you to adopt the furry friends.
you walk to the puppies cages because they are little.
You look down into a little puppies eyes and imagine.
You imagine your life together.
You look into their eyes and this is what they see,
They see someone who walks by and Ohhhsss and Ahssss
they want to go home with you.
You pick out the cutest puppy there,
And you take it home.
It has a black head,
and white paws.
It has a collar of white for it's neck,
It has a black spot on it's back.
This puppy will annoy you,
it will steal you're shoes.
It will chew on the carpet,
and on the bed.
It will be a nuisance crawling in you're lap
It will lay on you’re clothes.
And at the end of the day no matter what...
It will jump on the bed,
and snuggle down next to you.
It will look up at you with innocent eyes.
It will tip it’s food bowl over to symbolize.
That if has gone unfed.
That puppy will grow up,
and become you’re best friend.
That puppy will be yours or so you think..
But that is untrue,
because the moment that you looked into that puppies eyes,
you became his.
