I am my baby
rapped in myself
cold and bare
alone and quaking
They've cut off the umbilical cord
leaving me to starve
They've pushed me of the boat
into a sea of wide eyed carcass
Beggars and stealers
I'm coming up for air
and they push off more
I am my baby
wide-eyed carcass
Hidden in sunken ships
Like antiques
they search me
they try taking me to their air
But I am my baby
soaked up and hating
every moment
I am the sea ground
old and breaking
from the pressure of the sound
and you won't find me here
or if you go done
Because I am the darkness
hopeless and waiting
for a light to contrast
I am my baby
held near my gut
pressed against and outlining my curves
giving myself warmth
and detaching my nerves
from my baby
knowing I can't save me
save the blood
Cut the umbilical cord
I am my baby
disparaging in saying:
I am the sea
The wide-eyed carcass
Everything but me
