four foosteps lined the sands
parting grains like parting ways
forever engrained temporarily
as if time could hold it together
but these footprints, wont line forever
nor will they hold true
because these tiny toes
will likely be two sizes larger by next summer
and we wont remember where we first walked -
let alone find the van when we're ready to leave

Wow, all the poems I'm reading tonight have these fantastic closing lines, and this one is no exception. What more can I say really? In so few lines you've captured a whole lifetime.
