Astride my stallion our hearts
Thundered, we sung the warriors
Song; across the hills,
Over the dales.
His strides out ran the
Hounds of hell.
Lord what beautiful green
Terrain; along the golden
Fields of grain.
Laying low I let him
Have his head fast as
The mighty heated gale.
Swiftly moving over the plain;
All fours, all out muscle bulging
Against my excited knees.
Our motions fused two
Spirits in one.
I turned Midnight to the west
Into the haunting sunset,
Slowly before he is blown.
His rhythmic trot; took us home
My prize animal; Midnight Run!
Author notes
This is about a horse name Midnight. I feel animals should have freedom to run as my aunts horse did..I often rode him barebacked, he could run like the wind.

Nice! It took me a moment to figure out why it was Option #2, but now I can see that you were describing his freedom. I could feel the speed and power. This is a strong image. Good luck in the contest!

woman and horse can be a magical combination, moving in a rhythym reserved for horse and rider, thundering ground and movement, exhilaration, so well done...PK

Midnight is Beautiful
and so are you, of course. A perfect blend of human and horse, it had to be enjoyable for the both of you.
Wonderful description, beautiful imagery, I could see you both galloping across the plain. You were wearing a white gown were'nt you? Were'nt you?
A million dollar image there, thank you for sharing!
All my love,
Brazos
