Sagittarius, God of Fire

December eighteenth, nineteen ninety-one,
Beneath the sign of the archer, a girl was born
The element of fire buried deep within her soul
Ruler of the planet Jupiter alongside Pisces
Inspired by the tale of the centaur Chiron
Sacrificing immortality to give humans fire
A great Titan, son of the god Kronos
Tin, Topaz, Purple, Dark Blue - elements of mine
Carnations, Dandelions, Garlic, Sage, Borage
A spicy nature of great wit
Yearning freedom, telling stories
A teenage girl in a world of her own
Fighting for the love of a boy born of Aries
Battling a sister born of Scorpio
Rebelling against parents born of Leo
As she lives her life, the life she was given
Under the ninth sign of the great circle

Author notes

My first prose. I just had to write about the zodiac, because I an fascinated with Greek mythology.

    Great

My mom is Sagi and Love the Greek mythology so I had to read it & boy I'm glad I read this one... it's cute and funny that is very well written prose form of poetry. Loved it the way you have put your entire family in a string of pearls of your poem... to me it's a winner but still good luck in the contest... Thanks for sharing your charming personality's thoughts... take care Minoo

    Excellent write.
I dig the incorporation of the mythos and your actual physical existance into the piece, very cool.
Many thanks (and a few applause) for entering
