Rosy painted
Cheeks of satin
Rub against my
Face. I hug my
Doll so tight.
She’s mine, alive as
Human, her
Delicate eyes twinkling,
Tattered, ragged, old
As ever but still
Mine. I whisper all my
Secrets to her and she
Keeps them - she’s a
Faithful friend who sits upon my
Pillow, waiting for
Me every day. My
Little ragged doll, who’s
Always there…
Lifeless, but lifelike still.
