Inside this chest of frozen cold,
Lies a heart of broken gold,
Linked by fragments of yesterday,
Memories that refuse to go away.
Taken up pieces that are frozen cold,
Inside this chest of broken gold.
Chain linked fragments of this broken heart,
Are driven together, when they should be torn apart.
I lay hear, piecing together what can not be,
This heart laying in the shredded yesterday of memory.
When did these links begin this chain?
Holding together my tortured pain.
Unbreakable in its need to torture me,
With this unforgettable memory,
These links that make this chain of history.
