It's been a long road
And the path not smooth
Some live on a silver platter
Others on the pavement
But I live on the rocky path
Running through the forest at night
My path is hard to see
Many dangers lie around it
One step to the side can mean death
But if I stay on the path I live
In the forest of the night
I have but one light
One walks ahead of me
Shining like gold against a black sea
So simple the instruction
"Come follow me"
Yet simple was never so hard
"The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak"
But how can the spirit go without the body in life?
Tripping over my feet
Falling and stumbling
Never lose sight of the light
If I can't see the light then I've strayed
Black is the forest of the night
And in it there is no light
Looking around frantically for the light
Turn around
Walking the wrong way you loose sight
Walk towards the light
Never walk away
Few people come this way
Hard to find and harder to stay
"Straight and narrow is the way"
So few have come this way
And fewer still shall come
For wide open and "fun" are the other roads
But the worst monsters walk in the roads there
Yet many walk those roads instead
Maybe they are blind to the danger
Maybe they don't care
To the ones who live "Do as you please"
Their road is the best
But if they looked up
Or if they opened their eyes
They'd see the dangers lurking
Right before their lies
And the path not smooth
Some live on a silver platter
Others on the pavement
But I live on the rocky path
Running through the forest at night
My path is hard to see
Many dangers lie around it
One step to the side can mean death
But if I stay on the path I live
In the forest of the night

Author notes
In a world where the spiritual realm is hardly noticed by most westerners not many will see what this piece means.
That being said, "Let those with ears, let them hear.
And those with eyes, see."
To all the others who neither hear nor see or understand...may you one day know what this poem means.
Commets welcome

Brilliant!!!
You are not the only one who feels like this in the bible it says at Romans 7:21-24 I find, then this law in my case: that when I wish to do what is right, what is bad is present with me.
I really delight in the law of God according to the man I am within, but I behold in my members another law warrimg against the law of my mind and leading me captive to sins law that is in my members.
Miserable man that I am! who will rescue me from the body undergoing this death? Thanks to God through Christ Jesus our Lord! So then with {my} mind I myself am a slave to Gods law, but with {my} flesh to sins law.
A lovely write dear friend and always remember Matthew 7:13,14.
Thank you for sharing such encouraging fine scriptuarl thoughts.
" And let anyone hearing say Come! and let anyone thirsting come; let anyone that wishes take lifes water free"
