Ignore the sight
of my hand as it shakes.
Ignore the sound
of my heart as it breaks.
Ignore the tears
coursing down my cheeks.
Ignore the hurt
you've doled out these last weeks.
Ignore the love
I've professed once again.
Ignore this poem
as it flows from my pen.
Ignore my soul,
it no longer lives.
Ignore this hatred,
deception is just too much to forgive.

The one we love always hurts us the most at times. We go back thinking this time it will be different. But it's not. You say "Just Ignore me" Why should you be ignored you have feelings. Good write. Take care of yourself don't let him run you down.

Rock n' Roll! I REALLY enjoyed this poem because it had WONDERFUL flow and nice story. Yeah. Deception is just too much to forgive. That's very true, if you understand what I mean.
I especially loved the lines:

Well I guess you as well as myself are destined to be hurt over and over i have been doing it for 17 years and still have not figured out why I am still here.I think your poem hit all the questions that it seems a person in that situation would love answers for. Touching poem that i`d guess many can relate to, poem flows nicely off the tongue and makes for a great read , the beginning sets it off like dynamite and and the end nails it in nice and tight , some nice rhyme as well , all in all a good poem

I think that this is a really good poem. It flows so well and the emotion coming off it is almost the way I'm feeling right now. This is something I think everyone can relate to at one point in time! You are right though, you keep allowing him to come back knowing what it's going to end like {heartache}. Only you can do something about it. It's better to have loved and lost, instead of never having loved at all. You loved him but he doesn't respect it so go out and find someone that will respect the love you give him and love you the same in return. Thank you for entering this in my contest. Good luck!!!!

I really relate to this poem. I had to put my foot down and take legal action to keep the one who kept hurting me away. I wish you much love and happiness with someone who will treat you the way you deserve.

You got to kick yourself in the butt, so as not to get walked on again and deceived. Its called self-preservation, or saved yourself, for no one else is helping you. Self destruction offers no benefits, if it is offered, its temporary and not lasting. You can do better, so allow yourself an opportunity to do so. You can do it, as we all have the inner strength to do what is necessary for survival.

I feel your pain..He does this to you because you let him, you need to run from this relationship. By letting him get away with this behavior you sacrafice your dignity. He will not change, the relationship will only grow worse. If you don't move on and if the right person comes along he can't fill the void in your heart because it is filled with dead wood .I have a daughter in a similair situation.If you sacrafice your principals to get what you want you deserve what you get. I know this sounds brutal but its the only solution, turn the tables and walk away. you will be stronger for it. Your boys won't grow up thinking this normal behaviour. good luck and be strong. rudolf

Awe Nicole, thats not fair, surely he must see the hurt in your eyes, never mind the pain in your heart. He needs to start looking and listening harder, before he loses you forever. You shouldn't put yourself through this agony, it'll break more hearts than yours if it doesn't change soon. Come here till I give you a, you deserve that at least.
