There is a place where indecision ends.
Where it is scraped off
like the gum clutching the sole of your shoe
slowly and agonizingly,
as it struggles, desperate to cling to you
like an over zealous girl friend
who refuses to believe that
this
is the end.
There is a strange sort of
bitter sweet taste on the back of the tongue
like over steeped tea drenched in honey,
or the salesman sugar coating
the sour pill of his “deal”.
The lights blind
like a 1000 degree sun
or the light of heaven’s gates.
Don’t follow the light.
It makes the head spin.
Hard to concentrate.
Straighten the back bone,
like a marionette on the string
that runs from your feet out the top of your head.
Breathe deep like you’re going under.
10 . . . 9 . . . 8 . . .
Without fail,
never passing
eight.
Even when cheating,
never passing eight.
4 . . . 3 . . . 2 . . . 8 . . .
Eyes snap open.
How much time has passed?
A codfish,
only a codfish.
Is that all?
Scraping the last bit of girl friend
off of your sneaker.
Plastering on a smile far too large to be natural
but they don’t care,
they see only what they wish.
Faith is blind
and they are faithful.
The shell of confidence hardens over,
deepens
like blue dye being soaked up by agar.
Indecision ends before the curtain falls.
Author notes
This was a random string of thoughts that just kind of spiraled out of hand on a sheet of paper. Not sure what I'm getting at, but enjoy.

hmmm... i dunno what to think.
It's definetly an awesome write, and will be added to the finalist list.
However, I have no idea what its about. Is it just random thoughts or is it a deeper meaning? But this has made me very intriguied in the poem none the less.
Good job and goodluck in my contest!
Trento.

Wow. This is a pretty cool poem that you have here.
I like this. And I read your author notes and I agree that it's kind of crazy and jumbled but it had a lot of really cool metaphors and images os that I found it really fun to read. I'm not sure what you're getting at either but I think it was a fun post.
