Beginnings

Endless eddies,

That speak of clear pools
In rocks beside the sea.

They say that life began,

And reflect the sun and blue sky
Do not stir,
Disturb, remove, dip.

Fragile, warm
Undisturbed.
They reflect it all              if you give them time,

I said give—they will take nothing from you,

As the shallow scratches on my back attest,

time given, like that.

Pools that reflect us like eyes,
If we look together,
And do not hurry
Through the sand to the shore.

I'm going to have to read this a few more times when I've gotten more than 3 hours sleep. I get the feeling there's more to it than my muddled brain can grasp right now. It seems your work requires me to actually think...darn that insomnia.

"As the shallow scratches on my back attest,

    time given"

I find this line so interesting, the scars you wear - significant of pain, but also of pleasure perhaps, life is bitter-sweet.

"I said give—they will take nothing from you...
Pools that reflect us like eyes,
    If we look together,
    And do not hurry
Through the sand to the shore"

And this - that if we look into each other, and look forward at the same time, that you would move unhurried through the sand of time.
