I wonder where everyone's going
when there's a race that's yet to be run
when there are stories yet to be told
and epics yet to be sung.
I wonder where everyone's going
when I promised the best of the best
it's still churning out without stopping
and my fingers won't give me a rest!
I wonder where everyone's going
why our world has diminished in size
perhaps it just got rather boring
or another opportunity caught their eyes
I wonder why everyone's leaving
when the real game has barely begun
they could have saved us all much grieving
just by staying and having some fun!
I wonder what makes them decide
to just pull up and leave on some day
I suppose that they feel justified
but the pain never really goes away.
Imagine a team of three friends
who decided to write themselves in
when two of them pull up and away
and leave one alone, hurt within!
I wonder where everyone's going
when my team starts to break up from inside
when the two who should stay go and leave me
and I can't show my pain for my pride
I guess I'll just have to remember
the good times and stories we shared
and perhaps, down the road, I'll give up
and pretend that I never have cared.
