Just Pray

Prayers sustain me through the day,
my faith will always see me through.
God give me strength when hope is gone,
I draw upon my faith in you.

When full of doubts I start to pray,
even when my words are too few.
When trouble comes to my door step,
I learned to rely on you.

God, your voice is so uplifting,
so encouraging every day.
When I am tired and weary,
Lord, You take my worries away.

You pick me up to climb mountains,
I look to You to light my way.
When I am lost in the darkness,
I hear Your wisdom, as I pray.

I will always reach for Jesus,
when my days seem cloudy and gray.
Reach down to me and guide me Lord,
come and let the sun shine today.

Author notes

The last verse, especially, made me think of the psalmist's often uttered, "Let Your face shine upon me!"
If we are in Christ, His face shines upon us at all times, good or bad. There is no higher security than knowing we are His....
Here are a few things I think could be improved in this poem.
verse 3, line 1: comma after "God"
Verse 3, line 2: everyday should be two words - every day
verse 4, line 1: climb mountain would be better if it said climb the mountain or a mountain
verse 4, line 2: you (speaking to God) needs to be capitalized
verse 4, line 4: your (speaking to God) needs to be capitalized
A sweet poem - I much enjoyed reading it. Thanks for sharing!
