Once again
into the fight,
your hearts blood given
with strength and might.
Answering the call
of freedom for all,
willingly you give;
though you may fall.
Sand fleas bite, skin chaffed,
sweating from the heat.
Hunkered down waiting,
hoping the enemy will retreat.
Thoughts afar
on family and friends,
knowing they are safe;
while someones family you defend.
Mighty soldier
far, far from home,
we will believe in you
no matter where you roam.
Fighting for right
and a peoples dignity.
We will be holding you
no matter what you see.

My son leaves in Aug. for second tour in Iraq. This is dedicated to him and all our boys now in harms way.

I love this part. You are still as amazing as ever when it comes to writing on such things as these. Hope all is well with you and yours.

Nice. I'm proud of our fighters parents as well as them. Without you guys, they'd never be!

We support our sons and daughters and wish them well. You enter into the details of the experience, the sand, heat and discomfort, yet show the soldier is equal to the demands placed on him. May God protect all the protectors.
