Desire

Desire

During times I have pondered love
Every time I wonder just what love is
Saying I’m tired of giving all my heart
In moods when I’m feeling hurt
Realizing just what is my desire
Escaping from all the hurt and sin

I found a way to rid of the sin
a way to come back and feel the love
a way to achieve my hearts desire
when there is nothing but there it is
I found a way to stop the hurt
and know I have a caring heart

at times when I’ve had a broken heart
and times when I could not forgive sin
I looked for a place to hide from the hurt
a place where I could feel the love
I found that place and what really is
the place that all the wise desire

a beautiful woman by name of Desire
a poetess who writes with her heart
I don’t really know how she really is
but she knows how to take me away from sin
she writes to me in the language of love
she speaks to my mind and cures the hurt

so when I want to loose the hurt
I read the works of beautiful Desire
she fills my heart with caring love
all to mend my broken heart
Desire wages war on sin
her insight knows what it really is

if I loose myself I know where it is
and I know how to stop the terrible hurt
I know how to rid myself of sins
just read a poem by beautiful Desire
this verse I dedicate from my heart
to a poetess who I truly love

The sin is gone and this I desire
No more hurt within my heart
I find love within Desire; she knows what it is

    Impressive!

The acrostic is a great beginning. I know how difficult a sestina is! She must be very important to write such a difficult tribute. I can imagine she will be very impressed. Keep spreading your light all over the world. I love to see it.

    Excellent

What a truly beautiful and wonderful poem to enter in the contest for Desire. I'm sure it will touch her so. It is full of such great feelings and thoughts. The mastery lies more in the heart that composed it than the form. Thank you for this poem for her. Good luck in the contest.
