Upswept

you got me Volant-
flying away:
grabbing my horse-hair broom
and cackling-
leaving behind mangled heaps.

mid-air in
a filthy wine cellar
(still descending down-
splattered cement brick:
Oh My, is that vermillion?)
in a trance/
    little barbs down my vertebrae.

where i see a face
(nearly as familiar as yours)
my dress and hair lifting,
limbs splitting apart--
seeping into my dark silhouette,
turning into shadow.

dwelling in murk, where a simple {imagined} smile leaves me air-borne.

This was fascinating, I think that's a good word for it, heh. It was like a dream sequence and matched the picture really well. Also, your wording was carefully chosen and placed. Love the format of this piece as well.

    "Oh My, is that vermillion?)
    in a trance/
    little barbs down my vertebrae."

--I mean, if I'm the only one who thinks this is brilliance, more people should be like me. This was lovely, really a great piece that I smiled as I read. You don't see that every day
