Drowning

Partner's departure left me sinking
Her secret hidden until the last
My eyes blinded by deceit
Weights pulled me down, I could not swim

Indecision numbed my mind
Life ruptured, I bled from wounds
Blood flowed to the streets; down drains
People passed me, I was invisible

I heared no voice, I felt no touch
To bring me afloat, to rescue me
In a pool of stagnant water
I was swallowed, swallowed, swallowed...

This world stabbed my heart many times
I tried to swim; but always failed
Tormenting fears bullied me
Into my own abyss

I just sank, going down
I could not breathe, I drowned

    great poem

the thing i like about this poem is it's all one big metaphor; Throughout the entire poem you've so expertly entwined together the concept of drowning and deceit and how they're both alike. Great job and thank you for entering my contest ;goodluck
