Angel of Light - Soul Take Flight (Part Two)

Missing image

Anticipation of their new baby's arrival
Mommy and Daddy pack up- head to the hospital
Their Unborn baby kicking inside
Mommy smiles with a gleam she can't hide

Daddy nervous and driving fast
They arrive at the hospital finally at last
Mommy deep breathing-feet stomping the floor
They are both greeted at the sliding doors

Nurses surround Mommy and get her prepared
Monitor and IV applied, she is scared
Heartbeat is slow- now a change of plans
Daddy trying to be strong while holding her hands

She is whisked away for immediate surgery
Daddy gets dressed so he can be near the Mommy
Doctor has to do an emergency C-Section
Daddy looks faint from the red in his complexion

An newborn child brought out into the world
The color of blue with no cries hurled
Nurses rush frantically to give this baby life
Daddy is held back- cries behind his wife

Mommy lets out a scream with tears down her face
The doctor's fear they lost the urgent race
A white light engulfs the operating room
A beautiful Angel appears with feathers in bloom

She stands by the tiny baby and caresses her cheek
Could hear Mommy and Daddy loudly weep
Mommy pleads to please save her baby
This bundle of joy deserves an opportunity

Deep Pain in her heart but love does not stray
She closes her eyes and beings to pray
The nurse let Mommy hold her baby for a minute
Mommy holds her tiny hand and then kisses it

Whispers "I love you" with streams from her eyes
Tells the Angel she is too young to die
The monitors start blinking and staff rush around
The Daddy stands in shock- makes not sound

The Angel holding her hand, tells her to come
The baby is removed as Daddy looks numb
Another LIFE has been taken- a white dove set free
Baby's cries are heard but none from the Mommy

Author notes

~A mommy's love is stronger than the bonds that tie~ This mother was unselfish and made a sacrifice~ We make many sacrifices in our lives~ She made the right choice in her mind~

This was frickin awesome, I love it...the same thing happened in the movie "the Seventh Sign", or at least I'm pretty sure thats what it was called. But this was a good write anyway and i liked how you wrote it as if a child were telling it.

Thank you for entering and good luck in the contest!!!

    Amazing awesome

A sad poem for us all to ponder. Many lives are lost on a daily basis. Today I learned a classmate died a week ago. He will be missed. This makes the fourth one to die in 18 months. The four were of tragic deaths. How sad for their families. One was one who died from a heart attack in the bath tub while her two young daughters were alone for two days before she was discovered. The girls were under 4 years old. How tragic. take care Rick
