Never underestimate the power that I hide,
Abstract thoughts, outside the box of my mind.
Treat me with respect, and soon you will see
Understanding heart, compassion within me.
Reach across the bridge, a gap left to close
Anchored to the shores of all that life throws.
Lend me your ear, as I speak words so real, a
Woman standing proud, with feelings that are real.
Open up your mind, and see what lies within,
More than meets the eye, a soul that's genuine.
All I ever ask, is that you take the time to see, the
Natural woman that hides inside of me.

this is great poem! i really like it! i love how the first line: Never underestimate the power that I hide, ties right in with the ending: All I ever ask, is that you take the time to see, the Natural woman that hides inside of me. so eloquently tied together all in between, like a bouquet of flowers tied with a beautiful satin ribbon. thank you for sharing this. kepp writing! God bless you always

A great rhythm is bouncing in this poem I like what you have said for it is the human heart that is the root of a person and nothing else.

This was quite brilliant really. I love acrostics and especially ones that I miss and do not even realize are acrostics until I am almost done reading the poem. I love that you chose this option..it is one of my favorite songs and my favorite by Aretha. Keep up the good work. This was awesome. Thank you for entering and good luck
