A Friend comes into your life to make you smile
And life once again seems worthwhile.
You find more friends and it makes your day.
They make you laugh in every way.
Then something happens to disrupt the scene
And from their life, you are weaned
For what reason, you do not know
And the loss inflicts a horrible blow.
They stop talking to you, start avoiding you
It seems from out of the blue.
What happened? What did you do?
But you can’t find a single clue.
You’ve grown so close, or so you thought
You didn’t argue, you haven’t fought.
You feel abandoned, you feel hurt.
You were just thrown in the dirt.
They are still around and you can prove it
They’re everywhere you are and you know it.
They see you there and quickly leave
And seeing this causes you to grieve.
You lost a friend and don’t know why
From afar, you tearfully say good-bye
