I love an older man and he loves me
Really that’s not hard to see
But for the sharing of the endeavor
Our love would be slain forever
Is it wrong for me to love someone so much older
Someone who makes me feel bolder
A man who brings out the best in me
And I’m not afraid to let everyone see
Someone who can make me smile
And be a gentleman all the while
He’s handsome and mature
Perfect for my nature
But no one seems to see
The way it needs to be
I should be able to love him
No matter the social chasm
We’re not that different really
We find a place in this humanity
A place for us to love
Floating free like a dove
When we make love together
I know it will last forever
Even though I only see that in my head
We’ve never really been to bed
Sure we have our physical attraction
But we feel the wait only makes a stronger connection
So that makes us seem even more set apart
That we would want a pure start
The politics and the grades
The people who organize the city parades
Those are the ones who don’t understand real love
The one second most important gift sent from above
So why can’t anyone set that shit aside
And realize I can’t have anyone else by my side
No one could love me like he can
No one could ever begin to fill that span
The forbidden love of Romeo and Juliet
Almost seems easy compared to our game of Roulette
Every time we’re together is a chance for a bullet
Someday I will have to take the trigger and pull it
I wish for that to not be the case
But I see no other room or place
Where our love can exist in total ecstasy
Igniting our most personal fantasy
Someday I hope you’ll understand
Why your truest love can come unplanned
Why everyone wants to get in your way
But with your only love you’ll stay
So here you have it
I’m not afraid to show it
Love can conquer anything
Whatever the people may bring

Excellant
This is good, I once dated a women who was 12 years older then me and my parents acted like she was sooo old. I think age shouldn't be a barrier to love. It's a sad day when society automatically assumes that because two people have large age difference and they're in love as significant others to one another that they have a dirty relationship and that the older one is taking advantage of the younger one. It isn't always true that one is taking advantage of the other. I mean yes it does happen ,but I think there are also some lovely and pure romances between people of different age groups
and society should understand that and relax about these things a little

Beautiful in itself. I also believe age stands no proper battle against love- love is love. Thank you for your entry, best of luck.

NIIIICE, I like this poem a lot! Age definitley shouldn't really matter allthough it would be slightly awkward marrying or even dating an 80 year old....like those girls and Hugh Hefner....
