Yesterdays Ashes

free me from the filth of their hatred
for they could never understand the depth of us
forbidden are we to talk,to touch,to linger

in the warmth of yesterdays long best forgotten
by their standards, of our living
how dare we smile, when the tune arises
when we sing along the chorus
or a certain line that still stings, their bitter hearts
no harm in remembering now
now when lives are led apart
yet dreams are shared together

in music that washes away the dust of everyday life

and replaces it briefly with yesterdays ashes

Your opening line could have traveled many roads and back again! You know...they make me sick, whoever they are. They set rules and regulations, laws that they themselves cannot keep. I applaud this, that's getting them, and boy do they need getting! I just heard me and hubbies song last week and you best believe we both broke out sining along at once. Loved this!

CONGRATULATIONS ON WINNING THE GOLD SIS'!

    I LOVE YOU! ♥
