To a Kiss

Could a lover ever feel more bliss
then with his lips entrapped
in a lovers kiss?
Could words ever express the love and joy
that a girl feels when caught
in a kiss from her boy?
Could a greeting ever be so wholly pure
then with a kiss?
I am not sure.

The lips' attack
the tongue's embrace
the lungs fall short
and both hearts race
both lips meld
as if into one
a twisted game
that both have won

A kiss screams of love
and of passion true
and primal urges
spring anew
a kiss is so subtle
and yet so strong
and every kiss
comes with a song

what higher power instilled in our minds
such strong love and emotions
that only a kiss now finds?
What is in our lips that makes us fly
and why do our lips' embrace
cause an euphoric high?
Is there a statement of love so wholly pure
then a simple kiss?
No, I am sure.

Oh yah, spelling mistakes (since I can't criticize anything else darn you) it's A euphoric high (stupid english language) and THAN a simple kiss. I may have missed others, but I was just totally encaptured the whole way through.

Holy... kiss! Um can you maybe give others a fighting chance??? Just... WOW! I fell out of love with my... k this is weird... EX-fiancee, because she moved back to BC where her family is. After she called off the wedding, she said she still wanted to date... then she moved, and so I realized I was falling out of love with her... she took it hard, but prolly not as hard as her cancelling the wedding after I had put so much effort AND money into it (more than she ever did). SO... needless to say I haven't been able to feel real love since... but slowly am able to build it back... this poem is perfect for me, I think I may just put it in my... book... with ur permission of course. THANKS so much for the entry... keep it up!

Aw, lovely piece. I think you captured the same flow as in a kiss. My favorite stanza is the second, you can tell that the flow changes and it has wonderful imagery and wording. Great piece.

    Have a wonderful day,

    mmmmm

This poem creates some beautifully sensual images but also shows that kisses can be lighthearted and fun as well...a girl being caught in a kiss from her boy...very well done. Congratulations
