A boy with shaggy black hair
balancing on broken glass edge
pale skin, almost blue
perfect lips
scars on his wrist.
From those heights he could
fall and die.
Walking unsteadily arms thrown out
I swear I can see
black Raven wings.
Eyes deep blue
drowning in oceans of truth,
A smile meant only for me
as I dash up stairs
to join him.
Touches leave fingerprints
like foreign maps in
a secret language
burnt into my skin.
Flash of silver lip ring
mesmerizing and cool
he looks like fallen angels
with black Raven wings.
Like the feel of words
inscribing themselves into me.
Touch of lips to calm
worried minds.
Swallowing his pain.
My voice scratches out
"Boys with such sad wings
should stay away from rooftops."
while tears stain my eyes.
The picture blurs
unaware of where he is
has he flown away?
or did he stay?
Image uncertain with tears
till arms hold me still.
A boy hides his Raven wings
but keeps his lip ring
going back inside with me
but how long before he needs
to be free?

In terms of just writing style, this isn't too bad. It has a contemporary feeling that I think would appeal to a certain youth.
Not that I'm old by any stretch, but the significance of a lip ring is lost on me, and the darker atmosphere is against my taste. Thanks for entering.
