A Poets Thought

I thought for long and hard before I began to write,
To sum up the sort of poet I am today,
But I think to type about me, it would take all night,
To be honest.. I'm not sure what to say.

I think there is no honest answer that I could give,
My personality changes every time,
The way that I think, the life that I live,
It is impossible to put it down in rhyme.

I am an honest person, with a sense of humour too,
But it seems there is no point to writing that...
I cannot begin to describe myself, least of all to you,
I guess we better start by calling me Kat.

I like my poetry to rhyme.. though it does not all make sense,
Some of them are smooth and slightly flowing,
I can sit and type out poetry that some would find imense,
At the drop of the hat.. the multitudes are growing.

I think the best way to find the sort of poet I try to be,
Is to look at the work I have already made,
I think it is then, and only then that you will see,
Before me and my works start to fade.

I can be cheesy and inspirational, or down-right weird,
I can write things to me that are just words upon a page,
I can write of happy things, and things that I have feared,
Sorrowful poems, or ones that are full of rage.

So what type of poet am I? And what makes me think?
To be honest I don't know, I don't think I ever will,
I write when I am joyous, or when tears are on the brink,
And when my mind is blank, I continue still.

I've written poems about not being able to,
The non poem of tomorrow, today,
So believe me, I have tried to convey this to you,
A bit un-understandable, but hey.

My poetry is a rollercoaster ride from beginning to end,
It has its ups and downs, its highs and lows,
I will always open up my arms to greet any new friend,
And that, my friend, is the way it always goes.
