Mashed Potatoes in My Hair

Missing image

Mashed Potatoes in My Hair

There’s mashed potatoes in my hair.
I simply don’t know what to do.
I’ve no idea how they got there,
There’s artichokes and spinach too.

I simply don’t know what to do,
This really is a silly mess.
And now there’s sticky food on you,
I even got it on my dress.

This really is a silly mess,
There’s gooey stuff beneath my seat.
I’m always neat, I must confess
But it’s in my toes and on my feet.

This really is a silly mess;
I’m only sitting in my chair.
You think I’m causing mommy’s stress,
With mashed potatoes in my hair?

One of the hardest targets to hit is a

babies mouth at feeding time, the spoon is repelled by a mere four month old's attempts to grasp it's purpose. "This is the airplane, this is the hanger, coming in for a landing!" usually winds up in a spatter on high chairs and the feeder as well. The fountainous bubble of a babies lips regurgitating pureed peas is an exorcism of sorts. But there is no finer task then nurturing future leaders, and watching them grow. great write and pic.~~Artis

    Delightful!

This was so cute and so much fun to read! It reminded me of watching my mom feed my little brothers when they were at this stage... and of feeding my nieces and nephew at this stage! =) Well done! It's so true: they get every kind of food or drink within their reach all over them - even in their ears!
I enjoyed the lilting rhymes and the baby's point of view.

hahahahahahahaha Funny funny it's so funny. The mashpotatoes in my hair, I've never had mashpotatoes in my hair. Mommy sais I did, I don't thinks so. Its a very messy baby, I don't think I was such a messy baby.

It's better then some bubble gum, cause that is when those scissors come, and snip the glob of goo away,
from hair I grew just yesterday, then I look bald like Grandpa Jack, and it takes weeks to grow it back, but oh, that taste, Bazooka's me, but I'll grow more, I'm only three!

    cute poem...been there ...done that!~~Artis

This is fantastic! I absolutely adore it! Thank you so much for taking time to write for my new arrival! It is truly appreciated.

There is total truth in these lines! I have certainly cleaned my fair share of mashed potatoes from baby's hair, and my own! This being baby # 9, I have a foolproof system for cleaning such messes, but it is so hilarious to watch Daddy try to deal with it without becoming flustered!

Thanks again for such a wonderful write. This has put a huge smile on my face this morning. I will treasure this always!

This is so cute! And darling baby is a mess, but your poem is a delightful retourne. The repeating lines are great, as long as baby doesn't repeat "mashed potatoes" and other sundry salad items in her hair!

This is so cute! I like how you tell it from the child's perspective and truly crawl inside the little one's mind on this. The pic and background are perfect for this.
