Key West

Missing image
Palm trees sway with the whimsy of leisure
Lenore sings out the days
Sunshine sounds leave a lingering pleasure
A soundtrack to honour the haze

Tall ships glide like swans on a diamond
And still the melody plays
The mystery of music made just for this island
Surrounds us in effortless ways

Once again dear friend your words take the reader to where you want them to be. I especially loved the line, "Tall ships glide like swans on a diamond." Your metaphoric usage is far beyond my own abilities and your work is always a joy to read. I can almost feel the sunshine and hear the waves lapping at the shore as I walk along the beach. Good luck in the contest my friend. Your friend in Poetry, Mysty Rain
