Trying To Read God's Codes

Missing image
If I could steal God’s codes
for keeping peace in a wild world,
I would.  Coordinates collide
with reality chipping away to decipher
a way to become God ~ not just the message.
I am left holding a ticker tape of truth
that I can not quite make sense of.

If I could manage to melt moonbeams
into galactic gestures of comfort, I would
slip covers of night to give rest to weary
travelers of night’s shadowy worriers.

If I were Milky Way, I would feed you
nectar of necessities drizzling down
throats that have gone dry in dark dream
screams to dim ears not noticing your starvation.

If I could tap into Omega and had Alpha
peace on my mind, I would stare down evil
like a woman willing to eat fire
and spit out disgust at its pretence
to know what language is spoken
by gods, goddesses, and spirits of interest.

Earth eats it.  Wind whispers it.  Fire heats it.
Water weeps it.  It is love in a literature
that we have forgotten how to decipher.
Look, a small seed un-scrolls new meanings.
A wild west wind scrams it around corners,
through valleys, downs villages, steals children.
Forests are blackened for having told.
Floods of warnings have come, been mopped up,
and build again in a hidden oceanic place.
We have to find a Code Talker that can tell us
how to love again, in spite of, instead of,
and because of  ~ Love being Love itself.

Where with shall I come before the Lord? And bow myself before the high God? Shall I come before him with lambs; with calves of a year old? Shall I give my first born for my transgressions? The fruit of my body- for the sin of my soul?

    (Answer

He has shown the O man, what is good. And what does the Lord require of thee? To do justly. To LOVE Mercy! And to walk humbly with your God...

    Hosea 6:6

Thank you, Carol for my contest. I am deeply touched!

love, when I think I do, I find it's a mystery that touches everyone. and still I wonder just what makes it so beautiful yet sad. yes love is love what would life be without it?

I cannot agree more with what has already been said by Carol. She is accurate in her analysis of your work. Nice alliteration and assonance in the poem. I love the last few lines 'cause they really end the poem so well.

    All the best,
    Charishma
