For so long I have been here,
Alone in this room,
Atop the tallest tower
In the blizzards of my past,
Frozen in this castle of ice,
Cold blooded,
Tears running solid on my cheeks,
But no longer.
The sun is rising,
Summer is here,
Her floral smell,
The radiance of her smile,
Hot enough to melt my heart,
Breaking me out of the prison
That is heartbreak,
Instead holding me close with
The chains that are her love.
The feel of metal on skin,
Blood spilling,
Skin becoming raw
As the struggle with these
Bonds continues,
As I fight for freedom once again,
To escape this prison she has left me in,
Alone in this room.
Author notes
Each stanza is one part; this is the story of a new relationship, and please don't think I fear commitment.

An interesting analogy. Very powerful stuff.
