[ “God’s special creations”, that’s what we’re called ]

“God’s special creations”, that’s what we’re called
He knew from the beginning we would disappoint him,
He knew man would one-day fall
But yet he took it upon himself to create us in his own image
He put the decision in our hands, whether to quit or to finish
Pure, loving and kind, powerful and great
He formed us with a mighty touch he knew exactly what he wanted to make
But evil and hatred have come over our land
Destruction and lies; we no longer trust the only man
The man, which can take away all our hurt, pain and despair
A man who’s kind and gentle a man who will always be there
Yet we look at the material things, the things that are plastic and fake
We want the cars and money, yet we don’t realize it’s our own lives we put at stake
We want all these things, but none of it lasts; never
But we have to realize the things that cannot be seen, will last; forever

Please Tell me what you think I want feedback

AMEN to that!!!! We have to have faith in the man above, he put us all on this earth to experience love, pain, hurt, sorrow etc. We just have to get by the best way we can. I love this poem, your choice of words tells the meaning of love so greatly and what it brings to our life.

    Great Write...

...with some words I may not have used, in regard to God's nature.

I do believe God made us in His image. At that moment, what other image would God have made us, like animals? I think not. It seems to me like it was His way of complementing us to make us in His image, since He is the highest of all beings in existence. Since we are made in His image, we are the pinnacle of His creation.

When I read the Creation account, it reads like an expectant Parent setting up the world for that Parent's impending arrival, man. Even now, many scientists comment how the earth's position seems to have been set up in a special way to view the universe as we can.

It's intriguing the conclusion you put in light of the truth of the Creation of Man. I would say you're putting much right on. Because all material things came from the Spirit of God, we must remember the Source rather than the gift. We put too much emphasis on the material, even making it our god. Many of us worship the creation, rather than the Creator.

My only concern is the use of the word "disappoint". To me, that word implies God was surprised, which I believe we both know He isn't surprised by anything. He was however grieved, while not surprised. The Bible states that God remembers our frame, that we are dust. That is a statement of mercy, the same mercy that sent His Son for our sad state.

    A really good write!

Excellent point! I enjoyed the completely free form of this piece. It had a serious subject matter yes, but the words themselves are presented in more of a casual manner. I like that. Line 7 could use a comma or conjunction after "touch" so that it is broken up more. You may choose to split it into 2 separate lines also. Your choice, and great poem.

Beautiful piece!! Trully beautiful! You might want to read over the later half of your poem though.. Starting from
Destruction and lies;... There's just a few minor spelling errors that are really common, at least, for me. I make them all the time. Great job sweetie!
