Mid-June 07

Mid-June 07. For any who may be interested, 'Mid-June' 2006, is  typed beneath this one.

Many, globe red, cherries have now ripened,
And sloe berries too, are here, if yet raw;
Forth, on fresh sprigs, do the blackthorns them send,
Their purple-dark presence, soon to ensure.
Certainly mature the season's showing;
Potato plants have made a great advance.
Jack-By-The-Hedge, have rains been bestowing;
Beside the ditches, does it take its stance.
Bold bramble blossoms, are now open full;
Which the bumblebees, to ignore refrain;
But copious pollen and nectar cull;
Refusing, from attendance, to abstain.
Mid-June, productive of natural life;
This, thus, reveals, in its abundance rife.

Seasonal Sonnet Memory Lane. This Mid-June, was first posted into Allpoetry. on: 20 June 2006.

Rape mustard and the new, fast-growing, corn;
Bright yellow, with green, widely chequering,
Do June's, farm-cultivated, fields adorn.
Above, exulting larks, uprising, sing.
Small conkers, noticeably, can we see.
Taut, tiny, tightly-compact, horse chestnuts.
Even so, though, already they're prickly.
Prominent, where’re such, through the leaves thrusts;
Retrieve these their pith cases of past years.
'Centranthus Ruber', in gardens extant,
Its flaming maroon the border endears.
With 'Alba', where this were thought relevant.
Spring's finding summer's a sim'lar compeer.
Soon June might its culmination draw near.

    Sonnets are not easy to write these are full of pictures and feelings. One can feel and see what the author is saying to the reader.It shows us what some may take for granted and miss the special moments of creation.
    Thank you for reading my work. I appreciate your comments. I wrote it from the trees and rocks it sprang from a verse in the bible,

      Glad you liked the first piece theredbookoflove. But, as for the 2nd, you see, it had already been written & posted up in here, last year. So was just a recap on a former piece.
