High-Definition Reality

Look around,
the world is small and our sights are broad.
We see how others live, and we know what we do wrong.

Yet our future burns slowly around us.

In a time of excess technology,
when we can have the world at our fingertips,
anytime, anywhere.

We have forgotten the concept of human intimacy.

Religions build up walls rather then tearing them down.
Those in control speak of peace,
yet forbid it through their actions.

Spirituality has died, and religions thrive in its stead.

Excuses for wars are accepted without even trivial thought.
Men with power fight to prove who is right,
when all they can hope to prove is who is left.

Personal perogatives have become more important than human lives.

The most unfortunate thing is,
while our world slowly crumbles into nothingness,
the human race sits happily, in front of a tv, or a computer.

Fascination with celebrity and power, has blinded so many.

And so we sentence ourselves, to be sitting in front of a big screen,
the day the world ends forever.
Watching it all happen in High-Definition,

almost as good as being there.
