She is standing on the hills tonight
Wrapped in shadow
Bathed in moonlight
Still standing, she doesn’t see me
I am standing by the trees
Self obsessed with her ivory
Hair flowing in the breeze
Crystal stars span out the sky
Teardrops to the naked eye
Clouds breathe at all of this so unreal
She stands naked against the black
Shadows run and the light shrinks back
Hollow sounds of the painted smile
The heart of stone lain in my hands
I cannot return home
To the place I’ve grown
Here I stand
Trapped with the past
Up at stars I watch them pass
All alone I laugh at last
Starlight on the moonlit grass
She threw the stone that was my pain
Swore to reveal all
To help me regain
The memories lost
In my minds subtle quicksand
I try to claw out
Of this place I know
Here I die
My time has passed
The years I loved flew by so fast
All alone with a shattered past
Ascending to meet you
….at last
Please tell me what you think
