IS IT A DREAM OR A NIGHTMARE?
NO WAY TO TELL
WILL I WAKE TO MY HEAVENLY FANTASIES OR TO THE DEMONS THAT HAVE BEEN KNAWING OFF BITS OF ME PIECE BY PIECE AS THEY HAVE BEEN FOR YEARS. NO WAY TO TELL.
WILL I AWAKE TO HAPPINESS? OR WILL I AWAY TO THE BLOODY MESS THAT HAS BEEN MY LIFE. NO WAY TO TELL.
THE PAST HAS PROVED ITSELF THAT THE LATTER IS TRUE....BUT MAYBE THE PAST IS JUST A DREAM, NOT THE NIGHTMARE IT HAS BEEN. MAYBE I SHALL AWAKE AND THIS TIME IT WILL BE BEAUTIFUL. NO WAY TO TELL.

this was alright... i have no idea how this relates the contest prompt at all. i guess there's "no way to tell" haha. my favorite line is "maybe i shall awake and this time it will be beautiful" but i didn't really see much substance in this poem. it didn't say very much to me. thank you for entering,
