Till Then

You told me to wait
In this quiet place
When all I wanted
Was to hear Your voice

So I distanced myself
From the rush and racket
Of this confused world

Till all I could hear
Was my beating heart

I realized with shame
How prideful I had become
Full to the brink

So I fell to the ground
Pouring myself out
For what seemed like days
I laid there finding humbleness

Turning away from myself
Thinking only about You
I am waiting for You, God

Then I realized You were here
Are here all the time
Patient for my answer
Loving me
Yearning for me to love You back

I understand this now
How could I have been so blind?

I need you God
Ceaslessly, without shame
Fill me up with You
Till only You remain
Till I love You just the same

Honestly love the twist you put into this topic. The first stanzas are the best part and as you get into the poem it becomes a tad cliche, but still enjoyed this write. Thanks for the entry,
