Bottle Labeled Whiskey

My hopes are in a Bottle.
A Bottle labeled Whiskey.
Drink it up, or pour it out
Fulfill the goal, or dream of doubt

My hopes are in a Bottle.
A Bottle sworn forbidden.
Break the Rules, or Follow through
Live a dream, dream something new

My hopes are in a Bottle.
A Bottle used to break.
Protect the glass, or shatter all
Either way you'll only fall

My hopes are in a Bottle.
A Bottle placed to drink.
But What you drink you soon become
but not the life you think

Your hopes are in a Bottle.
A Bottle labeled whiskey.
They're not my goals, or thoughts complete
They're all the dreams you dream I seek

Your hopes are in a Bottle.
A Bottle I won't drink.
For what I see reflecting off
is something to rethink

Their hopes are in a Bottle.
A Bottle to drowned good.
It pulls you from the dreams
and fulfilling what you should.

Their hopes are in a Bottle
A Bottle we've turned down.
For now we sit, and watch them fall
our life we reinstall
they've lost their hopes
they drank them up
poured them straight
into a cup
and all it did
was help them lose
and all they did
was drink the booze.

Please tell me what you think

      Thanks.
      When i started it.
I didn't intend on the meaning that it ended up with.
I thought more along the lines of a metaphor.
but i never stay on track.
      Thanks for the Comment.
      Much appreciated.

great. I really like how you repeated the part about hopes in a bottle. A good read line throughout the poem. I like how you ended it with:
    "and all they did
    was drink the booze."
That brought a smile to my face!
