Shells...
My shelter,
from wars and rainstorms of misery.
My protector,
from the harsh reality
and chaotic world.
My sanctuary,
where I hide
from back-stabbers and liars.
A place
where I can call my home,
where I can be myself,
A spot,
full of love,
serenity and tranquility.

I liked the philosophical way you interpreted the "shell" theme here. A poem that leaves the reader with feelings of peace too. Shells are indeed "shelters". A very nice take on the contest theme.
Thank you so much for your entry.

How ironic that the strong protective safe haven that the mind is, is also such a delicate and fragile thing, easily brken and ruined.

That was a very beautiful piece of poetry fierra. I really loved the way you portrayed the shell as a home filled with comfort and love. The poem is short (cause its in the rules) yet contains a surge of meaning at the same time. Good job!
Good luck at the contest!
