Petals

Drift away, each velvet scorn;
Pluck each feather--in dewdrops torn.
Officious aid not once relieved,
What comeuppance those perceived.
Words escape in riotous mileau--
Granting quibblers to misconstrue.
Distraught by words left full of hate:
Indifferent to the world of late.
Such ebullience in the past was shown;
Never once in wait condone.
Yet here as now, will we connect--
And from these ashes ressurect?
What once before was our dissension,
To grant us peace in susurration.
With fervor, I would but plea,
Let it rest eternally.
