Twirling and swaying to the beat of the drums
Feeling life through the music of my soul
Captivated by the moonlight
as the sweat glistens on my skin
I am goddess to the night
feeling the energy of the universe
throbbing through my veins
Arms reaching towards the sky
to partner with the stars
Candles flickering with the breeze
and the stomping of my feet
My hair drenched , slapping my cheek
as I spin out of control
dancing to the rhythm of the night

Hello Soulful Woman. This piece creates a very carefree image of joy in my mind. Your words paint a person utterly synchronized to nature, as her own soul resonates with all around it. Very nice write. My regards.

brings back memories for me....
The very first line instantly reminded me of the time I visited Hurghada, Egypt in April of 1991. My ship was headed back home after the Persian Gulf War. We stopped for some rest and relaxation. I went to a belly dancing show, and there was a man playing the bongo drums incredibly fast. Although I was only 20 years old at the time, I was still so fascinated with the beauty of the culture in Egypt. Many different cultures left an impression on me. For many cultures, song and dance is a very spiritual experience.

Wow! I like that one. I can see a woman dancing once song after another not stopping once to rest just out their in her own world and making her own beauty excellent poem.
