The Time is Near, Will You Be Ready?

Sitting here praying and studying until the time has come
God, I need you to show me; is there more that I could’ve done?
I'm sending up my prayers, hoping I’ve kept myself true
I know that the time is near
How do I get people to trust in you?

Help me to open their eyes to show them there’s only one way
Show me how I get them to turn to you, not tomorrow, but today
But tell me, how in the world would I get someone to turn to you, when they’ve been turned on over and over again
How do I get them to trust you?
How can I show them you can be a friend?

I know I can’t continue to sit around and be shy
Because more than anything, I hate seeing people die
And I don’t mean physically
But spiritually because you they lack
It seems like there afraid to take chances
Like they’re looking for someone else to have their back

Seriously, this is the one time I’ve been at a loss for words
I’m waiting to be spoken to
I’m waiting to be heard

I’m waiting to be heard from those who don’t know you yet
I am waiting for you to show me the way
So they’ll know you love them and that you’ll never forget

Why are people so stubborn when they hear the truth?
Why do I feel so reluctant to speak to the youth?
I know the time is near
And I know in these last and evil days I cannot fear

Because in a twinkling of an eye many will be gone
And many will ponder in thought, and ask what’s going on
Many will be tricked and many will be deceived
Many will bow down to the wrong one
All because they didn’t trust and believe

I pray that those I’ve talked to will give their lives to you
I hope they trust and from now on try to live by the truth
I pray they aren’t out smarted by the one to come

I pray they stand strong and fight their battles until they’re won
I pray that on that day that is to come
That we’ll all sit back and you’ll pass me a cup

And say, “Good job my good and faithful servant, you never gave up.”

I like this poem, the many questions makes you think about them yourselves....It's good and the rhythm is nice...I don't ask as many questions, but I kind of state the same thing in my poem "A judgement day"

You might like it...Kind of like this one, just not as long...:-)

so many questiions i have had the same it flows very nicely and i like the rythem i enjoyed this poem if only it was simple to get others to accept but we cant do it alone if its meant to be all things are possible he will lead te way sometimes i wish i can talk to those that mock my beliefs but i cant change their feeling oonly god can. yes actions do speak louder than words, i will take that example. plus its hard for me to talk to otheres about these things.

    Another wonderful piece.

Sometimes it isn't the words we speak that show people where to turn too.. It's often by our actions. let God shine through everything you do. People will definitely see Him. And no, that doesnt mean to stop verbally teaching about Him. Do that all you want. But most people, or at least those I've come across, turn away when I verbally show who He is... Some people listen, but from my experience, people will see what makes you different by your actions.

    You're in my prayers~
