Did I see into your eyes today
As clouds parted with a ray for us?
Will the rains pour ceaselessly till we dissolve as one
And the wind whistle with every caress?
Will the moon hide her face to conceal her blush
As you whisper this poem in my ear?
Will the flakes of snow fall in synchrony around us
To the strains of the arias played here?
As nature stages her sonnet of love
Will your eyes mist over with desire?
And as the sky becomes painted with night
Shall you pen the ballad I inspire?
Have ever eyes shone brighter than stars
As your have done tonight?
Were they all as I saw? The sounds, the signs, your eyes?
Or merely a trick of the light?
