i am from cotton, from converse and hanes
i am from wide open fields, full of trees
i am from honeysuckle and grapevine
i am from home cooking and names hard to say
from shelia, sreeni,eva and marry
i am from the simple and the passionate
from crayola crayons not meant to eat
i am from sacred cows, misunderstood
and tiny crossed whittled from wood
i am from turbans and tall furry hats
from chutney and corn bread
i am from the battle in WWII
to the long immigrations over seas
i am from dusty attics full of boxes and memories
from antiques from many miles and years ago
i am from overseas and across the road

This is creative and lovely. Just out of curiousity, what was your inspiration and how do you think it fits my contest?
