I grow with the grass when spring begins;
Some say I ruin their lawn.
But the children who have yet to lose innocence
Know that I'm something to dote upon...
They appreciate my yellow hue,
They paint their chins with my pollen,
They pick me to complete a frivolous bouquet.
It's in my next stage of life that they see my true value-
In the wishes I could make true
If ever they blew me away.
Author notes
It's ten lines exactly, hope that's ok. So the answer to the riddle is dandelion (scientific name: Taraxacum officinale Weber). Also, the name of the poem is the Italian phrase meaning "urinating the bed". This phrase refers to the medical properties you mentioned, because dandelions are used as diuretics. Also I didn't just want to title the poem "Dandelions".
