Music

All drown in him.

Concealed beneath so many diverse melodies
Resides the resonation of a single, liquescent voice
And with each indelible chord there rests
A message of a tranquil scene

Yet, all divide in him.

Harmonies wrenched into segregation scream in agony
As numerous souls avariciously mold him into their own
It is the flavor of shattered unity on which we feed
That powers the copious faces that he must doan

Still, all recognize him.

Within the lyrics of his rifted dreams
Eternally rests one scripture pure in all that is human nature
It is our indulgence, our lush necessity
To be heard above the drowning air we breathe
And his relic exuberance provides our outlet of mortal sanity

Forever we all shall divide in him,
Recognize him,
Need him,
Create him,
And drown in his eternal memory

For he is our necessity

He is our drowning

He is our music.

Author notes

For the hundreds of styles of music there is, there is always just one meaning, to be heard. And there is not a soul in the world who doesn't scream from the top of a mental peek for someone to hear him.

Forever we shall divide in what we listen to and forever we shall unite in what we hear.

This is a magnificent write. Music is my passion and you have truly captured it's meaning here. Such emotion and power in this write. I love your line "the flavor of shattered unity". Very well done piece.

You are so amazing. You express a profound intelligence and a beautiful ability to write; frankly an envious ability to write. I really do not know where to begin with this. So many phrases that hold me in a sweet rapture. Rifted dreams really stuck out. Drown in his eternal memory. So lovely. The line he is our drowning is epicly profound. The personification is eloquent and written so beautifully.

I am spell bound to your beautiful ability.

Your comments mean the most to me for they are true and point out the best in each poem. It helps me see what I am truly good at!

Do not be envious of my writing, for I am envious of yours, and in the end, we become only envious of ourselves!

Personification of music for the meaning here, has the air of a solemn chant, the writing is done well for the purpose here to raise some broad philosophic statements on the place of importance of music in culture...PK

    Deep and.............................

quite thought provoking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I liked this. It could be taken in a couple of different ways at least to me. I walked away from this feeling it was a little bit of spirituality with some of the stanzas leaning that way, and at another point into this poem it seemed tobe about all wanting to be heard but at the same time tying them both together nicely! It is a bit on the intellectual side for me so I hope i am not too far off abse. Wonderful use of vocabulary I might add!!!Thanks for sharing!!!~~Toni~~
