The Desert

Stars encrust a blackened sky ,
Moonbeams fall on dunes of sand,
Silence deafens As i lie,
Upon this stunning arid land.

No trees or plants or life,
At all,
Just golden hills,
Standing tall.

I lie,
And make not a sound,
On this endless,
Timeless,
Mound.

Beautiful write. Most people don't really consider the desert becuase it is so arid but you showed that there is also great beauty in it as well. Nicely done.

I can imagine that such would be the feeling that being in a desert could evoke. I do not know as I have never been in one.....but with the stars above at night, what could be more beautiful than them shining upon a vast space of desert sand. Best wishes in the contestm

This is a beautiful write. Despite not having flowers and trees, in your poem you make the desert seem magnificent in beautiful with "golden hills" Very good and thanks for sharing.
