So many tears shed every night,
He screams, she screams, there’s always a fight.
You worthless, disgusting, pathetic girl,
She’s not your daughter so what do you care?
Treating her as you do, is it really fair?
A slap here or there to get her to behave,
Maybe you’re hurtful words will make her tame.
She only yells back and storms up to her room,
Locking the door she knows she’s away from you.
She calls her boyfriend in tears every day,
Crying and sobbing that she needs to get away.
He’ll pick her up and take her to his house,
She’s no trouble to the parents, she’s quiet as a mouse.
So scream at her a little more,
Hit her again and let her fall to the floor.
She’s not your daughter, what do you care?
What comes around, goes around…now I think that’s fair.

The message here is absolutely chilling - one feels for both parties. The natural extension is that the daughter will pass it on, so, so sad. Of course this, thank God, is not society today, it is an element of society and might, eventually, be moderated. Thanks for sharing.

i really liked this because i can relate to it very well. I hope you're really not going through this, its no fun at all. My dad doesnt hit me, but he does talk me down pretty bad at times. Its hard to deal with, and writing is a great way to let it out. vent out your emotions.
The poem as a whole was amazing!!! it flowed great love. :] -
Interesting. I think the flow is pretty good and it's definently very like society today. A sad piece!
I wanted to know more about what the relationship was. You said she wasn't his daughter. Was he a stepdad or was it just sort of a metaphor?
Nicely done. I like the last line. I agree that that's fair also.
