Hello for the last time.
You left for eternal rest.
My tears have dried,
your roses are dead,
destroyed with salt.
You taught me so much,
my passion, wisdom, my honor.
I pondered over these words to you.
Here is what I say.
You were my father,
my savior,
my hero and my law.
You held me,
you hurt me,
you told me why you had to.
You taught me,
you scolded me,
you tried to make me strong.
I hope your proud of me.
I love you dad.
You left for eternal rest.
My tears have dried,
your roses are dead,
destroyed with salt.
You taught me so much,
my passion, wisdom, my honor.
I pondered over these words to you.
Here is what I say.
You were my father,
my savior,
my hero and my law.
You held me,
you hurt me,
you told me why you had to.
You taught me,
you scolded me,
you tried to make me strong.
I hope your proud of me.
I love you dad.
Author notes
This is just what I wish that I could say. I miss you Dad. I always will.

Doesn't really relate to the song at all doll.

I cannot personally relate to the deep emotion of this poem, but today is the second anniversary of the passing of my best friend's mom. I know that this day will always be bitter sweet for her.
For me the most powerful line was the first. It spoke so much to the pain of letting go, of acknowledging that they have passed. Thank you. -
Dads, love, them, love to hate them, but love them we do. This was a very touching and heartfelt poem, which I could definitely relate to on so many levels. All I can say is that some days are better than others in terms of missing or longing for your Dad, but I know it worked for me, write about it. Thank you for taking the time to share with us, superb read.

This is a very strong worded poem, with deep emotion. I can tell, just by reading this poem, that you really do miss your dad. The words are powerful, and the emotion is amazing. Great work on this one.

This poem made me teary eyed and envious all at the same time. I have only met my father one time in my life and he shows no signs of wanting to create a relationship with me. I am glad that you have that kind of father in your life to build you up and make you strong. Great read. ~mandie~

Sadly I cannot connect well with this poem.
It has such strong words and it makes me
feel bad that I can't like my own dad.
But you did such a great job.
He must have been a good one.

So beautiful
Oh the scrapbook of wisdom passed on through experience does buffer the soul when one so loved is lost. I hold my memories so dearly

-
Love your wording and the depth and feeling in this. I am in the midst of losing my dad - and it is rough and an important part of my life that can never be filled by anyone else. It will be a long time, I think, before I can say.."My tears have dried, your roses are dead, destroyed with salt."

I lost my dad over a year ago. I still feel it. He was taken by a very cruel person, and the sudden and unexpected loss I think will never completly fade. Thank you for the wonderful comment.
