Lover's kiss is lover's calling,
and in the wind it softly blows,
murmuring their gentle names
as they're breathed across the day.
The tears in their eyes
are hints of falling darkness
that will blanket this world
in a shadow of only nothing.
The dove sits perched high above,
singing her sweet melody
as she puts hope in the hearts
of those who believe her.
Even as the smoke rises,
they all stand, hand in hand,
silent,
but still screaming to the sky.

This may be a little dark, but I hope it isn't too dark for your contest.
I think I wrote this a couple weeks ago... I haven't been writing much poetry recently. I like this one, though... And hopefully you will too!
