all manner of depraved.
God says "eye for an eye"

They argue
race.
"Its not a deterrent!"
They scream,
maybe not
but it makes space.
When did deterence
matter
to The Law?
If that were the case
there'd be no Law
at all.

People have too much time and/or money on their hands if they have time to waste bitching about anything much less trying to save the worst of humanity. And if they need something to bitch about bitch about something thats wrong or worth while. Prisons are overflowing with people arrested on drug offenses, most simple possesions, that are less harmfull than legal drugs like alcohol which is the deadliest drug both for users and the people they accidentally kill or maim. It causes disease in every system of the body, is responsible for more deaths than any other substance with the exception of tobacco and is the only drug that can kill an addict in withdrawl yet is completely legal. most other substances cause little to no harm at all to the human body and all substances used in moderation are completely harmless. Or how about protesting the criminal liberal media and the decay of our civilization it has and continues to cause??? When the Church is bending Gods rules to accomodate sinners who have gained acceptance through the molding of popular opinion by the criminal liberal media and the predominantly democratic teachers union you know somethings got to give or life has got to fail. In the past few decades its been gays and minorities ,whats next child molesters and rapists??? after all if ones "born" gay than the argument can be made that ones "born" attracted to children. Not to single out gays but im just showing the rationale between what is at one point taboo and becomes the "norm" its a gradual process.

Okay you had me agreeing for awhile-a lot of strong points that I agree with on some level-but OMG.
How can you compare "gays and minorities" (whatever the heck that means to you) to child molesters and rapists?? Mate that's bad. There is no way saying I'm just pointing out the rationale...excuses that.
Gay people want healthy happy relationships with people of their own age FGS- how can you compare same sex romance to sickos like that? -

You made me laugh about the line of about it at least making sense. It's mean but I still laughed. Your author notes were much more in depth though. And I can see your point. I don't really know the answer. My biggest problem with the death penalty was the fact that we don't always get the right guy and who are we to play God and accidently kill an innocent man? It's been proven to happen. And the part about the gays doesn't really work with the part about the child molesters. From what I've learned Child molesters were usually people that had been abused themselves and were damaged psychologically and emotionally. And gays are people that don't intend harm to a defenseless age group, but are looking for constent and a place to live and breathe like everyone else. I believe in your passion for a better world but not all of your argument.

You really challenged my thinking with this. I am personally against killing in any capacity. However, you make some really good points here. Usually these people cannot be rehabilitated and do re-offend. Gays ARE born with their genetic predisposition - child offenders and rapists are NOT - they are "bad seeds".
I do agree with you on one issue: the more liberal we get, the more dangerous society is going to become. Somewhere, folks have to learn there are consequences for their actions. Those with criminal minds need more than jail time to stay out of trouble. They do need to learn if you offend, you pay for your crime.

i agree with the whole drug thing, as alchohol is far more dangerous a substance, and our prison systems are pushed to the max with petty drug offenders. i have to be honest when i say i dissagree with the whole "criminal liberal media" thing. as far as im concerned, there is no part lines. all politicians are out for one thing, no matter what they say, its only about who theyre trying to appeal to (obvioulsy the republicans are going for the religious, and the democrats for the bleeding hearts, as if there is no in between). also, what is taboo in religious circles mostly doesnt matter to everyone else. i have gay friends, and they are no different from you or i, we're only made to believe so. if youd make the comparison between gays and pedophiles, then id make the comparison of the religious right to the nazis; the religious blame gays for the problems in america, and the nazis blamed the jews. no, we both know that neither of those comparisons are correct, but they seem so at a glance, and that is the real problem with america. overall, though, good poem. i enjoyed it, as it definitely stirred something within me
