I may bend
And I may break
I may sway
And I may sigh
You may see
Just a willow tree
But I stand on high
Even when danger in nigh
I shelter all earthly things
In my large lodgings
So let me in the still
Stand on my hill
For I may creak
And I may crack
But I will hold
In the bitter cold
Taking only what is mine
And giving for a time
So let me be
My own tree
Leave my sanctuary
And do not tarry
For you do not belong
In my earthly throng
You are a danger
As a stranger
Taking what is not yours
And sailing from unearthen shores
Go now and let me be
A solemn willow tree
